Salford affected by fire service cuts

A number of cuts are being made to the Greater Manchester fire department, including closures of six stations in order to downgrade to three and re-locate to more convenient areas. Up to 113 support workers could also be made redundant due to the cuts.

One in ten adults over 40 are diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes

In Salford just under 14,000 people are currently diagnosed with diabetes, an estimated 90% of which will have Type 2 Diabetes.
