A man from Little Hulton has been charged with 40 offences that relate to child sexual abuse.

Carl Jones, 57, of Little Hulton, has been charged with multiple sexual offences including rape of a child under 13, attempted rape of a child under 13 and sexual activity with a child under 13.

He has also been charged with four counts of indecent assault on a child under the age of 16 years and one count of engaging in penetrative sexual activity with a child aged 13 to 15 years.

In March this year (2024) the police were contacted regarding the welfare of a child and concerns about possible sexual exploitation.

Detectives from the Child Protection Investigation Unit then launched an investigation.
