Salford City have signed Scottish forward Connor McLennan on an initial one-year deal.
The 23-year-old will be joining the Ammies after being released by Aberdeen this summer.
A former youth international for Scotland, McLennan spent 15 years at Aberdeen, coming through the Dons academy.
The winger made his debut in April 2016, with 107 appearances for the club scoring eight goals and getting 11 assists this time.
However, the forward is familiar with a move away from Pittodrie Stadium, with the McLennan having two separate loan spells at Brechin City in 2016-17, 2017-18, and St. Johnstone in the 2022/23 season.
McLennan spent last season playing in the Scottish Premiership for St.Johnstone, where he played 27 games scoring once and getting two assists.
The transfer to the Ammies gives him his first opportunity to play in England, with McLennan excited at the opportunity: “I’m delighted to be here, I honestly can’t wait to get started! I’ve had some good conversations with the manager, I’m really intrigued to come and play for the club.
“Coming down here is a new challenge, and once I spoke to the manager, it was something I’m really looking forward to doing.”
McLennan becomes the fifth new face to join the Ammies this summer as they once again push for promotion, with the winger adding: “The team was so close to getting promoted last year so I’m here to try and help with success.”
The new signing will hopefully add more goals to an already impressive team going forward, with Neil Wood’s side being the joint highest goalscorers (joint with Mansfield Town) with 72.
