Salford City have confirmed the signing of Jamaican defender, Adrian Mariappa.

The 36-year old, who has played more than 150 times in the Premier League, has signed for Salford on a deal until the end of the season.

The centre-half brings with him a wealth of experience at the top level, having played in two FA Cup finals with over 60 caps for the Jamaican national team.

Salford fans will have to wait a little while to see their new signing, as Mariappa is currently away with his national side in preparation for a game against Mexico.

Mariappa becomes the second Salford player to be ruled out for this Saturday’s game against Stevenage due to international duty, with Ibou Touray also receiving a call up.
