FOLLOWING the announcement that Peel Outlets have rebranded themselves as Lifestyle Outlets, plans have been revealed for the £13 million investment at MediaCityUK.

After much anticipation among local residents, Quays News can finally describe the newer, fresher outlet on Salford Quays…

THE SITE

A brand new stunning waterside restaurant terrace with an upper level balcony will overlook the Quays with an impressive entrance and easy access to the beautiful waterfront.

Outside the outlet, there will be extensive landscaping and improvements on the already popular tree-lined walkway to enhance the setting and overall experience.

INSIDE

Rather than traipsing around the Outlet before seeing the latest blockbuster film, new escalators will be developed to provide a direct link to the cinema with an additional area to expand family entertainment.

On the shopping front, all new and existing stores are getting a ‘window makeover’ – some shops have already undergone this improvement such as, M&S Outlet, ToyTown, H Samuel Outlet and Bench.

Lifestyle Outlets Managing Director, Jason Pullen, said: “Historically the centre has turned its back on the water and we want to reverse that. We want to increase movement around the Outlet.

Pullen continued: “We already have a fantastic range of brands at the Lowry Outlet including Next, Gap and Clarks, plus the new-look M&S Outlet, Bench and H Samuel adding to the mix and many more top brands in the pipeline.

“This is an exciting time for the outlet.”

Whilst the stores pull in the older demographic, the fresh creation will entice students with high-street names and designer labels offering up to 70 per cent off.

As well as the current offerings at Salford Quays, cosmopolitan restaurants, bars and coffee shops, state-of-the-art cinemas, gyms, hotels, regular artisan food and craft markets and large-scale seasonal events will also be home to Lifestyle Outlets.

Pullen added: “Shopping has become a major leisure activity and people expect more from a centre than just background music.

“They want an experience. That’s why great brands and entertainment are an integral part of our appeal.

“To encourage more frequent visits, attract new audiences and cement our position as part of the local community and wider region, we host major events like our summer Food Festivals and Christmas Markets, whilst our monthly artisan food and craft markets maintain activity and interest throughout the year.

“Our innovative approach means our retail schemes are twice the size of traditional Outlets, with leisure, food and beverage added to the Outlet core.”

There is not a set date in which the renovations will be completed by, but many in the local area will be hoping it is in the not too distant future…
