“It’s wonderful to have it back”: Lowry Curator shares excitement ahead of Thursday’s return of ‘Going to the Match’ painting

The Lowrys’ Director of Visual Arts, Michael Simpson and his small team are responsible for trying to keep the work of artist L.S. Lowry on display at the Lowry theatre and art gallery in Salford.

According to Mr Simpson, “The Lowry collection belongs to the people of Salford.”

Mr Simpson is very passionate about his work and appreciates L.S. Lowry for his unconventional artistic style.
