Salford City are gearing up to face League One Leyton Orient in the second round of the FA Cup.

The Ammies will hope to secure their place in the third round for the second year in a row. They host Leyton Orient, who currently sit 13th in the league above, at the Peninsula on Friday night.

The game kicks off at 7:30pm and will be showcased across the UK live on TNT Sports.

Salford come into this game off the back of a 7-2 loss to Rotherham in the Vertu Trophy. They made 10 changes from their weekend 4-3 league win against Crawley Town, with high chances, they rested their starting players for Friday night’s game in the humbling loss in the week.

The Ammies played against Cheltenham in the second round last season, in a comfortable 2-0 win courtesy of Francis Okoronkwo and Cole Stockton.

They drew English footballing giants Manchester City in the third round which ended in an 8-1 defeat, despite the result manager Karl Robinson was proud of his team and their character.

Leyton Orient went as far as the fourth round in last year’s competition, where they also played Manchester City, nearly causing an upset, narrowly losing 2-1 with a half way line goal to give them the lead.
