Signed Kobbie Mainoo shirt - provided by City of Salford F.A

A football team from Salford are raffling off a signed Kobbie Mainoo shirt as they aim to fundraise £3,000 for a trip to Spain.

The City of Salford School F.A are hosting a comedy night to allow their under-15 boys teams to travel to compete in Spain this May – with residents also being able to win a signed Kobbie Mainoo Manchester United shirt.

The club will be hosting their comedy fundraiser on Friday 11 April at the Walkden Cricket Club – as they hope to add to the £800 previously raised.

This time the club will be hoping to raise upwards of £1,000 and push them closer to the set target of £3,000.

Salford residents will be able to help with the fundraiser and win the stunning 3D light-up frame through the raffle.

Tickets for the signed shirt will cost £10, and the tickets will be drawn on the evening of the fundraising comedy night.

Every ticket will help the talented lads on their journey, and will help those involved, support grassroots football.

And this was encouraged by the teams coach Adam Fish, who is hopeful that they will raise the money for the trip and follow the long-standing tradition of the club.

Adam said: “The money will go to a trip for the team that we have scheduled. We are trying to raise as much money as a possible, with the set target being £3,000.”

The club will be looking to raise as much money for the club as possible, with one of the parents donating the shirt.

Adam continued: “One of the parents were able to get a hold of the shirt through connections, we have great and supportive parents.

“The shirt is an amazing contribution, and we will have a wide variety of items to win in the raffle – and all the winners will be announced on the night.”

And with the Manchester United players signed shirt going up in the raffle, Adam reflected on how important and inspiring the shirt will be for the young players.

“Kobbie Mainoo is from the Manchester area and I have no doubt that he would have gone through similar pathways, where he has played for a local team.

“He has represented England at a young age, and to have a shirt from him it is symbolic to the players to see what they can achieve.”

And with the raised money it will hopefully push them closer to their target and give the young team a great chance to build and inspire them for the future.

Adam added: “The trip will give the lads a great opportunity to play against international teams, and we also want to develop their skills and the passion for football.

“We hope that we are building character, and doing our part as a social club in the community, we just want to influence passion for football and all sports.

“And we hope by having the chances will inspire and develop young adults for the future.”

The event is strictly 18+, with doors opening at 7pm and the first act coming out at 8pm – and those in attendance will be able to get tickets at a cost of £10, plus a booking fee, and can be purchased here.
