Salford City win away from home against Bromley - Salford City

Salford City were able to secure back-to-back wins for the first time since January with a comeback 3-2 win away at Bromley.

The Ammies who went a goal behind in the opening 8 minutes, through an Ossama Ashley own goal, would need to dig deep to pick up three points.

And with Karl Robinsons side responding with great determination in the first half, they were able to get themselves back into the game.

The Ammies were able to get themselves back into the game in the 16th minute, with the ball being won in the middle of the park before it was slotted through to the Salford number nine.

Stockton was able to take the ball in his stride, not even taking a touch in his approach to the ball, before placing it past the Bromley keeper.

And the desire to win continued for the away side, as they continued to mount on the pressure in the opening half.

The ball was once again one in the middle of the park and worked out wide to Haji Mnoga who was able to carry the ball into the box.

The Salford City right-back squared a short ball onto the edge of the six-yard box where Kelly N’Mai was arriving to slot it into the back of the net.

The two-goal turnaround for Salford was enough to put them into the lead for half-time, much to the relief of the travelling away support.

And after coming out in the second half the Ammies were able to extend their lead in the 62nd minute.

With just under half an hour to go in the game Salford goalkeeper Matty Young launched the ball up field, with the ball bouncing around the middle of the park, it was able to find the feet of Mnoga again who played through Stockton.

Cole Stockton was all alone running forward with the ball, before having the chance to take a few touches before firing it past a wrong-footed Bromley goalkeeper.

The brace from the Salford forward was promising and seemed as though they had done just enough to walk away with all three points.

However, ten minutes later the Ammies would make the ending to the fixture more nervous, as Bromley scored in the 74th minute.

A well-worked corner that was played onto the penalty spot was able to find the Ravens forward, Michael Cheek who was able to volley the ball through the crowd for the late goal.

Although for the Bromley forward, it was to only be a consolation goal with the effort being the fifth and final goal of the day.

The win for the Ammies will be hugely significant as they go into the final eight games of the league season, and with a game in hand over the surrounding teams, a victory could see them close in on the playoff places.

And with a quick turnaround for Tuesday nights fixture against Barrow, Karl Robinson will be hoping that his side can get three consecutive victories for the first time since January.
