Salford City

Salford City will be aiming to close the gap on the playoff positions this weekend, as they face Bromley in a mid-table battle.

The Ammies will look to gain more momentum and build on their 1-0 win against Grimsby, two weeks ago.

The win for Karl Robinsons’ side game from a late 82nd-minute header from Matty Lund to tighten the gap to the play off positions.

The victory over Grimsby was the squads first victory for the team after seven games, when they beat Tranmere Rovers on February 8.

Looking ahead to the game, Salford will be hoping to walk into the game improving on their previous performance against Bromley.

The last meeting between the two sides ended 3-3, with a late comeback from Salford in the last 30 minutes – and a Cole Stockton 93rd-minute equaliser saving the Ammies from defeat.

And with the Ravens, walking into the fixture with a deflated feeling after a 2-1 defeat to relegation-threatened Carlisle United.

However, Andy Woodman’s side will be looking to improve in the fixture – with his side not winning a game in the last three with a 2-2 draw with Walsall and a 2-1 loss to Tranmere Rovers.

The fixture will be a hard-fought battle with only one point separating the two sides in 10th and 12th, and Salford City being two places ahead, they will want to capture three points to move closer to the playoff places.

Karl Robinson’s side finds themselves six points behind seventh places Grimsby with a game in hand; this will put the Ammies in a great position if they want a playoff place and an outside shot at promotion.

And with the pressure for the playoffs will hopefully motivate Karl Robinsons’ side trip to Hayes Lane, with this being Salford’s first trip to Bromley since 2018 when they beat The Ravens 2-0 in the National League.

With only nine games remaining in Salford’s League Two campaign, a win against Bromley will be critical in the Ammies attempts to climb the football pyramid.

The game will kick off at Hayes Lane at 3pm this Saturday – with more information about the fixture found here.
