Mother's Day - The Station Irlam

As Mother’s Day approaches this Sunday, there will be plenty of opportunities for residents to celebrate mothers and grandmothers across Salford.

Mother’s Day will take place this weekend on Sunday 30 March, and across Salford there will be many places offering the chance to celebrate motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society.

Relaxation and luxury massages – Faith’s Academy in Irlam

One location is offering the chance to relax this Mother’s Day and indulge in a luxury massage and Japanese head spa with beauty specialist Rhiannan Egan.

Based at Faith’s Academy in Irlam, there are two packages available, including a ‘relaxing massage using warm volcanic stones’, and a Japanese head spa treatment that aims to promote hair and scalp health.

The treatments also explore aromatherapy and reiki energy healing; to promote calmness and serenity, with the carefully curated packages aiming to evoke ‘pure relaxation this Mother’s Day.’

Packages start at £50 and will allow mothers and grandmothers the chance to celebrate and relax on their dedicated day – and bookings are available to book here.

Flowers by Bethany 

Residents across Salford will also be able to celebrate Mother’s Day with hand crafted floral bouquets.

Flowers by Bethany specialise in creating beautiful floral arrangements for all occasions, with Mother’s Day being one of their busiest periods for business.

Ahead of the Mother’s Day celebrations, they said: “We tend to find that a number of our customers will buy two or three bouquets for their mum, their partner’s mum, and their gran.”

For Mother’s Day their arrangements range from different colours and type of flower – and are bespoke.

Women with Wings – Community Little Hulton Pavilion 

And the celebrations of Mother’s Day a local charity ‘Women with Wings’ are preparing to host their ‘She Shines’ event on April 5th, at the Community Little Hulton Pavilion.

Event coordinator Lilian said: “We are not only including celebrations for Mother’s Day, but also Eid al-Fitr, and International Women’s Day.”

The aim of the event is to celebrate women of all ages and backgrounds as well as the foundation of the charity, as Lilian added: “It’s a child-free event, allowing the women to have some quiet time away from their kids and the general hustle and bustle of life.”

The charity hopes to create a safe, quiet space for women to enjoy and celebrate themselves – and those that attend will be welcomed to enjoy massages, manicures, pedicures, and meditation, although it is a free event for those who don’t wish to purchase the treatments.

Mother’s Day Sunday Lunch – The Station in Irlam

There’s the opportunity to treat that special lady to a delicious Mother’s Day Sunday Lunch at The Station in Irlam.

The restaurant are hosting a wholesome afternoon of Sunday lunch by the famous platform, including a complimentary glass of Prosecco or soft drink for all mums who attend.

After recently celebrating their 10-year anniversary, the restaurant is preparing for another weekend of serving up their delicious food.

 Mothers Day at RHS Bridgewater 

Another option is to spend your Sunday on a nice stroll through the gardens at RHS Bridgewater, which are beaming with beautiful flowers and foliage, providing a calm and serene setting.

And with the turn of Spring allowing their 50,000 daffodils to bloom, it makes the perfect Sunday afternoon walk, allowing fun for all the family.

Community-based coffee morning – Little Hulton 

Celebrate with a community-based coffee morning on Thursday 27th March. Based in Little Hulton, the Salford neighbourhood watch team was born out of a desire to keep Little Hulton, and surrounding areas, safer from criminal activity.

Now, the group lead community-based activities and celebrations, with the group hoping to provide cards and daffodils ahead of this weekend.
