Salford residents will be entertained by the excitement of dragon boat racing, as it will return to the Quays this May.
The festival organised by the Xinhua Chinese Association (XCA) will bring the excitement of dragon boat racing back to the Quays on Sunday 25 May.
The dragon boat festival will be a key event in Salford’s cultural calendar since its inception in 2012, celebrating the spirit of community, sport, and cultural exchange.
The return of the festival saw members of the XCA Executive Committee were joined at Salford Quays by Consul General Tang Rui from the Chinese Consulate General in Manchester, and Salford’s Deputy City Mayor, Councillor Jack Youd.
The event also marked the opening of team entries for the 2025 festival – which are now open to the public and can be found here.
