Salford Roosters challenge for promotion begins this weekend as they start their season against Hindley.
The Roosters will begin their season on Saturday 8 March, as they travel away to Wigan, where they will meet face runners-up of last seasons North West Division One.
The Salford-based side will be travelling away from home, hoping to redeem their efforts last season as the Roosters lost 26-24 and 20-10 last season.
Salford Roosters will be aiming for a win on the weekend to kick start their promotion push for this season.
The club finished fifth last season, but with a change of head coach and the addition of new players, the feel around the team is very positive for the upcoming season.

Club captain and assistant coach, Marc Jones said: “We’ve been getting 40 lads down at training, which is enabled to get two teams out this year, which we’ve not done for a long time.
“So the goal for the first team are looking at promotion and definitely getting in the playoffs.”
The club has brought in new head coach, Andy Daw who has prepared the team for the season ahead.
Marc continued: “Andy has worked a lot of fitness, so the lads are as fit as I can ever remember.
“They’ve done a lot of contact training, a lot of tackling. So there’s been quite a lot of physical training which has benefited the lads.
“They look a lot stronger and it just seems to be a real buzz around training.”
The team are hoping their fitness and physical preparation will give them the edge to beat Hindley on the weekend.
Marc added: “Hindley away is probably our toughest fixture we’ll have this year. We are expecting them to be up there and challenging for the league title.
“Last year we were winning both games quite late into the game and then they sort of blew us away in the last few minutes. However, this year, like I mentioned before, we seem a lot fitter, so hopefully that won’t be a problem this year.
“We do respect Hindley, they’ve been a good team for a few years now.”
Looking forward to the league campaign finally starting tomorrow 🙌

The addition of new players has meant there will be a lot of rotation between the two teams this season – and they will be hoping this will be the difference this campaign.
Marc said: “There’s a real buzz around the camp. We’ve actually had to leave quite a few lads out this week who dropped down into the second team, which ultimately they’re not happy about.
“But it’s what we want as coaches, it’s a nice problem to have, as we’ve actually got selection headache.
“There’s a real buzz around the whole club at the moment. Both teams are sort of feeding off each other.”
And the excitement of the club and their players will finally be able to come to fruition as their game kicks off tomorrow at 2pm, with more information found here.
