Extraordinary women leading groundbreaking research that transform everyday lives in Salford and beyond are being celebrated.
The celebrations are being led by the University of Salford, focusing on the incredible work being done towards tackling some of the most hard-to-solve problems facing the world today.
From exploring innovative healthcare solutions and advancing sustainability to challenging societal preconceptions and advocating for underrepresented communities.
In celebration, and to display their efforts the university have launched a video displaying the remarkable women who are finding solutions through their research.

The video features Dr Celeste Foster, Dr Chiara Benvenuto, and Dr Rebecca Vos, among other incredible women, are shown in a variety of locations around the University of Salford campus, detailing the work that they are making toward the future.
Dr Rachel Woolley, Director of Research and Knowledge Exchange at the University of Salford, said: “At the University of Salford, we are committed to research that drives real change and enriches lives. Our remarkable women are at the forefront of innovation, shaping policies, advancing technologies, and addressing critical social issues.
“The dedication and expertise of all of our female academics across the University inspires us all, and this International Women’s Day, we are proud to celebrate their invaluable contributions to society.”

The University of Salford has shown its dedication for supporting female colleagues across the research environment through its Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Statement of Ambition.
And Salford is a signatory of the Athena Swan Charter, which looks to transform gender equity within higher education.
The Athena Swan Charter was signed in 2005 to encourage and recognise commitment to advancing the careers of women in science, technology, engineering, maths, and medicine (STEMM) employment.
As well as that support the University is also a Stonewall Gold employer and offer opportunities for staff to engage with the Aurora programme, which inspires women to achieve leadership positions in higher education.
