Cllr Brooks shared on social media: “It was great to attend the Disability Sports Event today hosted by @SalfordLeisure, seeing all the sports opportunities across the City of Salford, chatting with local sports partners and taking part in the free taster sessions.”

The event aimed to gather feedback from the disabled community across Salford to offer more opportunities and to fill the gap for those who have to travel to other towns or cities to get active.

Michael Tuson added: “The resounding feedback received was for activity for adults over the age of 25, therefore we have begun planning with a partner organisation SENSE to deliver multi-sport activity for people over the age of 25 living with complex disabilities.

SENSE deliver these programmes across the country and we are excited to bring it to Salford.”

Active Communities of Salford Community Leisure also posted on social media and said: “It was great to connect with partners and different organisations from across Salford and Greater Manchester at our disability sports event earlier today!”

Michael Tuson said: “We plan on further events like this again in the future to continue gathering more feedback from the public and bringing more community partners together to improve the local offer”.
