Here are some of the ways you can celebrate International Women’s Day in Salford this week in the run-up to the main day on March 8.
Salford Learning
On Tuesday March 4 they are hosting Women In Construction with an event at Salford Lads and Girls’ Club, 1-3pm.
There will be hands-on demonstrations and career insight throughout the day. Career and free course opportunities will be in discussion and available and the chance to network with industry professionals.
On Wednesday March 5th they will be celebrating women in business when key speakers will be there to help celebrate International Women’s Day.
There will also be a range of partner stalls available for people to browse through. The event will be held at Broughton Hub from 11:30am until 1:30pm. Free tickets can be accessed here Tickets .
On Thursday March 6 there will be a general celebration of International Women’s Day with a range of activities including live music, refreshments and face painting.
Opportunities will be available to meet local employers and businesses at their stalls. Free course opportunities and different career opportunities will be available throughout the day.
There will also be VR workshops, construction workshops, sewing and cosmetics. The celebration is going to be at Future Skills at Media City from 1:30pm until 3:30pm.
Langworthy Cornerstone
On Thursday March 6 Langworthy Cornerstone will be hosting an opportunity to celebrate women over tea, cakes and company.
Spokeswoman Estelle said: “We will be celebrating with an afternoon tea event and that’s going to be followed by a female orientated film, we are leaning towards Erin Brokovich. It’s a free event and we would love to see you there.”
The event will run from 1.30pm and 4pm.
