Applications are now open for the 21st Heart of Salford awards, which celebrates voluntary and community organisations in the area.
The event is run by Salford CVS and Salford Volunteer Centre, with the ceremony set to be held on the afternoon of June 3 at Buile Hill Hall.
There are seven awards up for grabs, including two new awards for this year’s edition.
The Volunteer of the Year award recognises the dedicated contributions made by an individual to Salford. There is also a Young Volunteer of the Year award, for those under 25 making a positive difference.
The Volunteer Team of the Year award recognises the contribution of an outstanding volunteer team, which was last won in 2023 by Salford Independent Visitors.
The first new award this year is the Community Champion of the Year, which acknowledges the difference a person makes to a cause or community off their own back, not with an organisation.
The application form for the four awards above can be found here.
The other new award for this year is Volunteer Coordinator of the Year, which highlights the difference they make to their own volunteers and the wider Salford community. The application form for this award can be found here.
The final two awards celebrate small and large VCSE (Voluntary, Community, and Social Enterprise) organisations which are making a difference in their local area.
The application form for these awards can be found here.
