Salford City will travel down to London this weekend as they are set to face promotion rivals AFC Wimbledon.
The Ammies will be playing AFC Wimbledon in an early kick off, that will see both sides compete for a firm place in the playoff positions.
The two sides are currently separated by three positions with AFC Wimbledon currently sat in fourth place, four points ahead of Karl Robinson’s team.
Salford City will be desperate to continue their winning ways, with the 2-0 victory over Tranmere Rovers lifting them back into the playoff spots.
The Ammies who are unbeaten in the last four games, have proven themselves as a tough team to beat but cannot afford to drop anymore points, with teams circling that final seventh place spot.
However, this will prove no easy task for Karl Robinsons’ side, with AFC Wimbledon coming off the back of a 3-0 win over Crewe Alexandra.
The Dons were able to showcase their strength netting two first half goals, a penalty by Matthew Stevens and a late 47th minute goal from Jake Reeves.
Johnnie Jackson’s side were able to continue their dominance in the second half with Stevens scoring his brace eleven minutes after the interval.
However, despite the confident victory for AFC Wimbledon, the mid-week fixture may prove to be detrimental to the sides weekend performance.
Karl Robinsons’ side will be walking into the fixture fully rested following last Saturday’s fixture against Tranmere Rovers – which may prove to be beneficial for the club with the early kickoff.
The Ammies will also be brimming with confidence with the last two fixtures showcasing their resiliency and determination to avoid defeat.
Salford City fans will still be celebrating the second-half come back against Bromley from 3-0 down, and their home win against Tranmere Rovers.
The more recent performance will also provide the players with confidence, with Hakeeb Adelakun and Jamies Jones both being listed on League Two team of the week for their performances.
Jones impressive goalkeeping display was vital, and allowing the strikers efforts to make the difference.
Nonetheless, the Ammies will be walking into the fixture with high hopes, and a victory would make them a true contender in the race for promotion.
The earl kickoff fixture will certainly be one to watch, and will be an important pillar in the Ammies ambitions to League One football.
