Salford residents are being welcomed to join the birthday celebrations of the Cbeebies icon Bing, that will be hosted at the Lowry this February.
The Lowry will set the stage for the iconic children’s character after a successful spell of shows across the Netherlands and Poland.
Residents will be able to attend the shows that will run from Thursday 20 February to Sunday 23 February, for Bing’s 10th birthday.
Guests will be able to join in the festivities of Bing’s birthday, and has been described as having “beautiful puppetry, original songs and music, especially made for little ones.”
The character Bing comes from the award-winning CBeebies television programme ‘Bing and friends’, that was first aired on our screens in 2014.
However, the much-loved and decade–long show is based on the books by British writer and illustrator Ted Dewan.
Bing is said to provide mental, emotional, and social developmental tools to support children in preparing for their lives.
And this has been conveyed through the television programme that highlights the ups and downs of pre-school life, navigating everyday situations.
The show seems to have had an major impact on the lives of a variety of young children, receiving over one billion streams on BBC Iplayer, and is also available to watch on CBeebies, Amazon Prime Video, and YouTube.
The successful show has been able to go on to win four awards since airing, including the Writer’s guild award for Best Children’s TV Episode.
Bing will be joined by his beloved friends on stage, with the cast including Lola Busari, Nathan Guy, Emma Hilts, Vinnie Monachello, and David Tudor.
The show’s producer Martin Ronan says that the show is “guaranteed to be full of all the excitement, expectation and heightened emotions that you would expect to find at a young child’s birthday party.”
