Salford City have confirmed the signing of Leyton Orient midfielder Lewis Warrington on loan until the end of the season.

The former Everton academy graduate, who made his Premier League debut for the Toffees at the end of last campaign, signed with the O’s on a 2-year deal in July.

But, after only making a handful of league appearances for his parent club so far this season, Warrington has returned to the North West in search of greater playing time.

Warrington has joined Salford with a wealth of EFL experience having previously been loaned out to Tranmere Rovers, Fleetwood Town and Plymouth Argyle.

He said: “I feel part of the group already, all the lads are boss, training was good and it felt good out there so I’m looking forward to kicking on.

“I’d say I’m tenacious, I like getting on the ball, I like landing tackles and breaking up the play, playing into the forward players and letting them create.

“I’ve got a few goals but the main one is to get Salford into League One, that’s the main goal, that’s the main focus, and I want to do everything I can by putting performances in on the pitch, and helping my teammates around me to achieve it.”

Warrington will hope to make an immediate impact as Salford City aim to return to winning ways in League Two at Cheltenham Town this Saturday, Kick-off is at 3 pm.
