Salford Red Devils Jamie Pye has joined Barrow Raiders on a season-long loan after spending 2024 training with the first-grade squad.
The prop signed a one-year professional contact with the Red Devils in July 2024 – with his efforts in the club being admired.
The coaching staff were impressed by his desire to play for the club, and were able to offer him his his Betfred Super League debut.
The ex-England Academy prospect featured in the defeat against World Champions, Wigan Warriors 64-0.
The 22-year-old was a standout performer for Paul Rowley’s side and despite the defeat he was able to earn praise from the head coach following the fixture.

The loan will see Pye be the first player to transfer between sides following the clubs signing a dual-registration partnership.
Following the move, he said: “I’m grateful to be back at Barrow. When the chance to return for the season came, I couldn’t say no.
“I wanted to come back to gain even more valuable experience that can put me in good stead for my return to Salford and the rest of my career.”
Jamie Pye had the pre-Christmas period with the Salford squad but will return to Barrow after a a short spell on loan last season.
During his time on loan he was able to score his first senior try against French outfit, Toulouse Olympique, crashing onto a short ball.
The move will see the youngster aim to achieve big things and will put him in good stead for the future in his rugby career.
The club are excited at the return back to Barrow Raiders as head coach Paul Crarey said: “It’s great news for the club to be getting Jamie Pye on a season-long loan.
“His physical presence and power were a revelation last year, and we all saw the massive potential he has.”
He continued: “We are all excited to play a part in Jamie’s development, and I’m thankful that my good friend Paul Rowley thinks we can help Jamie fulfil the expectations Salford have for him.”
