A distinct brand of hip-hop theatre exploring a dark and atmospheric adventure will be coming to Lowry in January 2025.
Until We Sleep that is the latest creation from London-based choreographer Botis Seva will explore a collage of stories of resistance and change.
The show will be performed with the company Far From The Norm, and will be open to watch at the Lowry on Saturday 18 January 2025.
Far From The Norm was founded in a youth club in Dagenham in 2009, and is an award winning London based Hip Hop dance theatre company led by Artistic Director Botis Seva.
The performance of hip-hop theatre will aim to showcase a blend of percussion and guttural sounds.
The story will follow a lone nomad yearns for faith as they lead a wandering community through shifting passages of time.
Throughout the performance, guests will be able to experience music blends through a an undulating style of movement performed by the dancers of Far From The Norm.
Visitors will be showcased dances with feathered costumes, that provides a glimpse of warriors transcending their former identities.
The creation of Botis Seva will hope to remind audiences that higher powers shape our reality focusing on the oppression of leadership.
The play will aim to showcase the the weight of hope against the burden of responsibility.
Botis Seva, Artistic Director Far From The Norm said: “Until We Sleep is my newest work, which has been birthed from different feelings and experiences of being a leader, in life, as a father, as a maker.
“Until we are put to sleep, until we are no longer on the earth then we must fight for justice and peace.
“Everyone must do their part but not everyone will want to live in peace, Until We Sleep is about perseverance, strength and the pursuit of peace, especially as a leader with the responsibility of carrying a community, a group of people, a family.”
Far From The Norm is a partner company of Lowry, and will hope to showcase their distinctive brand of hip-hop theatre.

“Botis and his collaborators have had a remarkable impact on dance in a short period and it’s great to see this show.
“Originally co-commissioned by Lowry and performed across the world, in the North.”
