Tickets for the multi award-winning and world famous musical Chicago are set to go on sale as it comes to the Lowry in August 2025.
Fans will be taken back to the 1920’s and will be able to experience the story Roxie Hart, a housewife and nightclub dancer.
Visitors at the Lowry are set to be dazzled between Monday 25 to Saturday 30 August 2025 – with tickets on sale tomorrow (December 17).
The visit to the Lowry will be a part of Chicago’s UK and Ireland tour which see the show stop at Edinburgh, Dublin, Belfast, Cardiff, and Birmingham.
The play will focus on the story of Roxie Hart, as she murders her on-the-side lover after he threatens to walk out on her.
The performance will show her efforts to avoid conviction, she dupes the public, the media and her rival cellmate, Velma Kelly.
Roxie hires Chicago’s slickest criminal lawyer to transform her malicious crime into a barrage of sensational headlines, the likes of which might just as easily be ripped from today’s tabloids.
Fans will be excited to visit the Lowry as the longest running American musical in Broadway and West End history opening in New York in 1996.
The original show was created by the musical theatre talents of John Kander, Fred Ebb and legendary choreographer Bob Fosse and is the winner of six Tony Awards, two Olivier Awards and a Grammy.
However, the current Broadway revival of Chicago is choreographed by Ann Reinking in the style of Bob Fosse, directed by Walter Bobbie, and produced by Barry and Fran Weissler.
And guests at the Lowry will be excited joining the list of 35,000 performances across 38 countries worldwide – grossing over $1.7 billion.
The list includes performances in English, Dutch, German, Swedish, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Italian, French, Danish, Japanese and Korean.
Tickets will go on sale tomorrow and more information can be found here.
