Emergency services were called to Salford Quays following reports of a person in the water this evening (Sunday 15 December).

The person that is now being cared for by the North West Ambulance Service, saw multiple response vehicles attend the scene this evening at Salford Quays.

The crew arrived shortly before 4pm this evening, with vehicles that included two fire engines from Salford Community Fire Station.

As well as specialist appliances including Water Incident Units and a Technical Response Unit at the scene.

The GMFRS confirmed that the person had left the water of Salford Quays.

A response unit could be seen outside Salford Watersports Centre, with emergency services attending the incident.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said:“Shortly before 4pm this evening (Sunday 15 December), two fire engines from Salford Community Fire Station, and specialist appliances including Water Incident Units and Technical Response Unit were called to attend The Quays, Salford amid reports of a person in the water.

“Crews arrived quickly and worked alongside Greater Manchester Police to confirm the person had left the water.

“They have been transferred to the care of North West Ambulance Service.

“Crews remained to confirm there were no further persons in the water. They departed after approximately two hours at the scene.”
