A silent auction is set to be held with a signed Salford Red Devils jersey listed to raise money for a pre-school.
The auction that will close on Tuesday 17 December will see guests have the chance to bid for the signed shirt.
The shirt was donated to the Rixton with Glazebrook Pre-School with the hope of raising necessary funds to provide for the students.
And with over 60 per cent of the students attending the pre-school coming from Irlam and Cadishead it will be a great way to support the local club.
The silent auction will allow guests to particpate by sending the amount they would like to bid via email.
The winner of the event will be notified on the Wednesday 18 December after they show receipt of payment to the direct debit.
Those participating in the auction will have to go past the minimum reserve price which has been set at £50.
The signed shirt was donated to the pre-school and will go on sale alongside a signed Warrington Wolves jersey.
Ahead of the silent auction, Elizabeth from the Rixton with Glazebrook Pre-School said: “We are a charity run pre-school and we are just a small village pre-school so we have to do a lot to pay for the running costs.
“We want to make the pre-school accessible to everyone.”
The fundraiser will aim to be used directly back into the lives of the children, as Elizabeth continued to share how they were able to get a hold of the shirt.
“We were lucky to obtain the shirt as my daughter (Millie) VX3 at Salford Quays, and she contacted the powers that be.
“She contacted them and asked that them that if she bought a shirt, would the players be able to sign it by the Salford Red Devils.
“It was Vx3 that gave us the shirt, they said ‘no you don’t need to buy one we will donate the shirt’”
With the shirt signed by the Salford Red Devils she donated it to the pre-school.
The excitement around the signed shirt auction will excite fans, and offer them to take home the Salford Red Devils away shirt from the 2023 season.
The XL rugby away shirt itself is covered in signatures, and will aim to raise money for the pre-school, as Elizabth added.
“Whatever we raise will be plowed straight back into the children, giving them access to resources, equipment, days out, whatever they need and benefit from.
“We want to be able to provide them with everything instead of raising for one set thing.
“We hope to raise as much as we can, because they are a well-known team and they have a lot of supporters. So it should be good.”
And the pre-school will also be using the fundraiser of the Salford Red Devils shirt as lesson to the children also.
Elizabeth continued: “We want to teach that there is a lesson about giving back and helped understand that we should give back to the community.”
The Warrington Wolves shirt will also be on offer at a minimum price of £50 also, but is a size medium.
The auction will run until 3pm on Tuesday 17 December, and the winner will be announced the following day.
All proceeds will go to the pre-school with additional information about the auction found here – with donations being able to be made here –
