A Salford charity is collecting Christmas presents to help fight homelessness and poverty this December.
The Salford branch of Mustard Tree will be collecting gifts with the aim of supporting those who are less fortunate during the festive period.
The Christmas drive runs until Friday 13 December, and will be hoping to collect Selection Boxes, Festive treats, Chocolate Santas, Christmas biscuits, Stocking fillers and other non-perishable Food Club items.
The aim of the fundraiser will aim to combat food poverty by collecting donations for their food club and community shops.
Mustard Tree has offered its support to homeless people, offering education, training and work placements, one-to-one support, advice, advocacy and creative clubs as well as food, furniture and clothing.
The donations can be dropped at any of its hubs, including two in Salford in Eccles and Little Hulton.
Residents have been encouraged to drop off any donations to any of their hubs or for larger collections you can email the charity here.
Items to be donated can also be purchased online and delivered directly through their GiveToday page.
And can even held provide those in need with a Christmas bundle, full of festive items that include two selection boxes, two festive treats, two chocolate Santa’s and a box of Christmas chocolates for £20.
Ahead of the drive, the Mustard Tree have encouraged residents to get involved in the community Christmas drive saying: “This time of year, is always tough financially.
“We ask for stocking fillers for our Community Shops and Food Clubs – such as selection boxes and other festive treats.
“Making items more affordable means that everyone has something to enjoy over the holiday season, without breaking the bank – it’s part of our ‘hand-up, not hand-out’ approach.”
