The festive carol concert will be held from 7:30pm, and will cost guest £7 for entry and will allow children under the age of 11 to go free.

The event will also offer guests free refreshments and entertain all the family to kick off the festive holidays.

All the fund will be used to go towards the Salford Foodbank, and give back to those who are struggling during the winter period.

Reverend Jenny Lewis, from St Andrews church, said ”It’s a lovely start to our Christmas season, with carols and Christmas music, but also we have always given any profits away to either the homeless or people who are struggling at the moment, and this year we have decided to give it to Salford Foodbank.”

Not only is it fantastic entertainment from a band that is over 150 years old, but all of the profits are going to those in need.

The funds raised for the event will vital, as according to the Salford Foodbank website they have already supported 4,807 people helped with food parcels in the second quarter of 2024/25, which include 1,546 children.

St Andrews Church are constantly helping out with local charities and just want to give back to the community, and the Eccles carol concert will be no different.

The church is also a distribution centre for Salford Food Bank, where every Monday they provide food for those in need.

”We work as a distribution centre for the foodbank, so a couple of days a week we are open and we distribute their food parcels for them, so we are kind of already partners so it seems a no brainer to offer the profits to them.”

Rev Jenny Lewis continued: ”People are usually very willing to support something like that for people who are struggling, and we would love for people to come, there is always room for more.”

”We are not putting this event on for ourselves, this is a way we can give to people in need at Christmas, but it is a delightful evening and we are doing it for other people; it is part of what we do as Christians.”
