A Church in Irlam will host a Christmas Fair offering a raffle, Christmas craft stores, children’s toys and refreshments.
Reverend Rob Jackson says there will be books and games too at the St John the Baptist annual festive celebration, which runs from 10-11.30am.
“It’s a community thing,” said Rev Jackson. “The people who come tend to live in our in our area and come back year after year.
The church will also have carol services and other Christmas services through December. One Christmas Eve the church will host services at 3pm – a crib service for younger families – and at 6pm and a midnight service from 11.15pm.
Rev Jackson says the 6pm service is “for those who would love to go to the midnight service but find the conditions too offputting during Winter.
St John’s hosts a coffee morning on the first Saturday of the month from 10am till 12noon, featuring refreshments, stalls, cakes and a raffle. All proceeds go towards church funds.
Service of Holy Communion take place every first and third Sunday at 10:30 a.m. All-age services with hymns, readings and prayers occur every second and fourth Sunday at 10:30 a.m. Children’s activities and a creche are provided at the back of church.
Wednesday Welcomes during term-time provide refreshments and a place to keep warm, offering a time and a place to chat and make friends.
