Salford Red Devils issued a club statement after confidential information about the clubs financial position were leaked to the media.
The published information about the clubs financial position “wasn’t entirely accurate and the Club were not contacted for comment.”
The club raised their concerns as they shared: “With the continued uncertainty surrounding the stadium ownership we have found ourselves in a position where sponsorships and commercial opportunities have been prevented which has left us with a gap on our short-term cash flow.”
The Salford Red Devils currently play at the Salford Community Stadium, which had been taken over by Salford City Council on September 3 2024.
The Salford Red Devils have shared that they have no clarity on the final timeline for the stadium which makes business forecasting challenging.
The club shared on social media an apology to the fans, as they said: “To our supporters, we understand your concern over the last 24 hours but we were restricted in sharing this until after today’s meeting had taken place.
“We appreciate that is frustrating. We intend to keep you informed with the full picture.”

The club scheduled a meeting yesterday (November 21) at the request of CEO, Paul King, to apply for an advance on our 2025 distribution to bridge the gap – which requires a League-wide owner vote.
The Red Devils had confirmed that the Super League clubs had met yesterday and agreed to adjourn until Monday to allow more time to consider the documentation provided.
Following the statement from the club, Paul King, CEO, said: “We’re grateful that our fellow clubs are considering our request and we are hopeful for a positive outcome on Monday.
“Whilst rivalry on the pitch defines our competition, we sincerely appreciate the understanding and efforts to set these aside and empathise with us in a difficult moment.”
He continued: “We extend our thanks to each Club for taking the time to consider our request and look forward to competing in another exciting Super League season in 2025”.
The meeting has been scheduled on Monday, and the Salford Red Devils have shared that they will issue a full statement following the Super League meeting.
