Salford City have announced their partnership with charity The Multibank UK for their 2024 Christmas campaign.

The aim of the campaign is to raise awareness of the issue of hygiene poverty amongst young people across the UK.

The campaign will also aim to provide people with the necessary resources in order for a healthy life.

Research shows that across the UK, 400,000 homes are without soap or toothpaste and 42% do not have deodorant.

However, The Multibank UK is aiming to secure donations for essential hygiene products such as soap, shampoo, shower gel, deodorant, toothpaste, and toothbrushes for those in need.

Salford City will aid this campaign by organizing a matchday fan donation on Saturday 14th December at the Peninsula Stadium.

These donations will be open when they face Notts County in their Sky Bet League Two fixture.

Ahead of the campaign Nicky Butt, co-owner of Salford City shared his enthusiam for the campaign.

As he said: “When we were first approached by The Multibank to be a club partner for this year’s Christmas Campaign it was something we were very keen to support as a club.

“We’re proud to be contributing to such an important initiative.”

He continued: “We know how supportive our fans are of each other and our community, and we understand that this is a challenge that many people are facing.

“So it’s even more important that we do what we can to help our community to overcome some of those challenges.

“This is a great way of doing that by using the network and the platform that we have to assist with The Multibank’s collections, ensuring that they can distribute packs to households where it will make a positive difference.”

And this was also furthered by the CEO of The Brick Multibank, Keely Dalfon, who added: “We are grateful for Salford City’s commitment to making a positive impact on lives of the most vulnerable across Greater Manchester.

“Partnering with us to support our largest anti-poverty initiative to date; by ensuring that children across the region have access to the hygiene products they need to reengage back into the classroom, and maximise their potential.”

For those keen to support The Multibank, donations can be pledged at multibank.co.uk.

More information about this partnership can be found on the Salford City FC website and more information about matchday donations will be released in due course.
