cyclist killed in collision

A 25-year-old cyclist has died in a collision with an HGV on Albion Way, Salford.

The fatal collision happened at 1pm, yesterday November 20,  at the roundabout of the M602 and the A57, commonly known as Regent Road.

Despite the best efforts of the emergency services, the cyclist, a 25-year-old man, died shortly after due to the injuries he sustained.

Greater Manchester Police are now appealing for information about the incident.

Detective Constable Steven Pennington, from the serious collision investigation unit of GMP, said: “We are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this to please come forward if we haven’t already spoken to you.”

He is keen to speak to any individuals who may have CCTV, dashcam, or mobile phone footage of the incident and the moments leading up to it.

He said: “This is to ensure we fully understand the circumstances, and can bring answers to the family and friends who are having to come to terms with losing their loved one.”

The collision comes only five months after another incident on the same road, resulting in the death of 60-year-old Salford father of twins Pavè Corkovic, in June 2024.

Mr Corkovic was riding a motorcycle,  travelling in tandem with another motorcycle, before a collision occurred with the central reservation.
