Monton businesses will be celebrated in this year’s Monton Jingle Mingle.

The event on Saturday November 23 will look to celebrate multiple businesses in the area and highlight all their hard work throughout the year.

Victoria, a Monton Village Community association spokesperson explained: “We’re more than happy to promote the businesses and drive people to the high-street, not just on the day of the event but throughout the year.”

The Christmas event is hosted by Monton Village Community Association. Sponsors include the Blue Moon Monton, Village Nails and Twig Monton.

Village Nails, which has been in business for 23 years, is just one of the traders keen to contribute to making Monton a better place.

One worker said: “It’s always been so pretty, especially at Christmas, and we want to help with this.”

Victoria said: “The businesses have been amazing and It’s just very heartwarming.”

Monton Village Community Association has been working hard leading up to the event focusing on the new Christmas lights pledge.

With the help of Salford City City Council, there will be new additions to the light display as well as last year’s favourites making an appearance.

The grand lights reveal coincides with the mingle.

A Monton Village Community Association spokesperson explained: “We promised to build on Monton’s lights legacy.”

Fundraising continues though as the association wants to increase the spectacle year by year.

The event is ran and organised by volunteers. There is a small group which dedicate their time to making the event enjoyable for the community.

Victoria explained: “The volunteers, we can’t thank enough. We couldn’t do it without them”.

The event is in collaboration with the Unitarian Church, where the lights are sponsored by the Bluebell.

The church will be holding a Christmas tree festival for the duration of the weekend, starting on the 22nd.  It will be the ideal atmosphere to shelter during the cold weekend.

The event has lots to offer this year, from food, entertainment, festive crafts, and mulled wine. Monton gin, created by sponsor Ancoats Distillery, will also feature.
