A local Salford charity shop was met with much surprise after they received a clothes donations from Madonna’s Celebration Tour 2023.

The Children’s Air Ambulance in Regents Park received around 50 items last year from the AO arena, much to the surprise of residents in the area.

And although they struggled to get an official authentication on the pieces, they received a donation from the rehearsal tour at the arena.

Items that were presumably worn by Madonna and her dancers went on sale last Friday and sold out within 24 hours.

Ahead of the sale one TikTok user @al.fisher posted a video on Friday evening on the finds and brought attention to the sale.

The TikTok user shared a video of the clothes and a note on the rail which stated: “Donated to us from the dress rehearsals at the AO Arena for Madonna’s celebration tour ‘23.”

Emma Wilson has worked at the store for two years and overviewed the sales of the pieces, she said: “I arrived to open the store on Saturday with a few people waiting outside the store.

“Still no idea regarding the TikTok video.”

She continued: “At 10am, when we open the doors, five lovely young men I have never seen moved so quick from the front of my store to the back of the store to shop the Madonna rail, they were over the moon.”

Throughout the day, they had around 50 items including jumpers, skirts, feather boas, and accessories.

As Emma added: “All through the day, it was crazy busy with people coming in for the Madonna stock.

“We were getting phone calls. We’ve had phone calls from America, messages from all over the place, people travelling from everywhere. One young man actually got an Uber from Glasgow.”

Salford residents weren’t the only ones getting their hands on the items. Irish pop duo and twins Jedward headed over to the store to make a purchase.

Emma said: “Jedward were in Manchester for the MTV Awards last night.

“They popped into store because they’d heard the buzz around the Madonna products,” she continued: “They did actually buy a couple of pieces themselves and and some very sparkly shiny silver boots.”

The Children’s Air Ambulance Salford Facebook page posted a video of the iconic duo in the store “Such a great space, great vibes. Get down here it’s where you need to be, show them so love. Its very Jepic”

As the store could not get an official authentication, the prices were considerably low, as Emma added: “We still kept it kind of charity shop prices because obviously we want to do the best we can for the charity and for the for the people that are that are buying from us.

“So I think probably the cheapest things were probably around about like say £7.50 and then went up to £35 to £40”

The store is very happy with the received attention over the weekend and bringing more awareness to charity.

The Children’s Air Ambulance helps critically ill children and babies fly to hospitals to help them access the lifesaving specialist care they need.

If a child is not able to fly, the service fly’s the doctors and specialist equipment they need to the hospital where they are being treated.

And with air transportation being four times faster than a land ambulance, the service helps minimise travel times and the inherent risk of being out of the hospital.

Although you may have missed out on Madonna’s clothes, you can still support the charity by donating here.
