A fashion show will take place in Swinton next week in aid of a Salford support service for complex medical needs and learning disabilities.
The organised fundraiser by Aspire Care and Support will partner with the charity Colours to raise money offer additional support.
The ladies fashion show, and pop up will see beloved high street brands ranging from sizes 6 to 22 at up to 70 per cent off.
The event that will be hosted on Friday 15 November, and is set to start from 7pm, with tickets to the event costing £8.
The fundraiser will be held at their Waterside Specialist Support Centre in Swinton, which offers specialised support to those with autism spectrum disorder, complex disabilities or other health needs.
The show is one of many that has been held this year but is one of the first fashion shows they have held post-covid.
And the fundraiser has been set up by Aspire Care and Support, who offer support to those struggling with dementia, disabilities and learning disabilities across a range of different locations, all specialising in different areas.
Ahead of the event Joanne Hope, who has been a staff member at Waterside for two years, shared why the fundraiser is so important.
She said: “The people we support don’t just come here to sit in front of the TV, we do activities with them.”
The centre provides them with activities such as day trips, going out on specially adapted bikes, rebound sessions on trampolines, and time in the multi-sensory room.
She continued: “They’re very, very active when they come here. We hope to send them away from here exhausted because they’ve had so much fun.
“And of course, all these activities need funding, which is why we do fundraisers like the ladies fashion show. Raising more funds helps us to do these activities with them, which I think provides better service.”
Aspire receives a lot of help from external companies and local businesses, such as Colours who they have partnered up with for this event.
“We’re grateful for anything. For help, donations and support, so thank you to everybody who does,” said Joanne.
The doors to the centre on Billy Lane, Swinton, will open at 6.30pm, with the show starting at 7pm. Tickets to the event will cost £8, which includes entry to a raffle being held.
Tickets to the show are still available, which can be reserved at waterside@iamaspire.org.uk – with additional information on the event being found here.
