A woman in her 50s was taken to hospital after a fire broke out at a house in the early hours of the morning in Salford.
The fire that occurred at 5.28am this morning (Tuesday 22 October) at Montonmill Gardens, resulted in one woman being injured.
Officers are working hard alongside fire investigators at the scene, off Montonfields Road in Monton, to establish the cause of the blaze.
A statement from the GMP has confirmed “that a woman in her 50s suffered injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.”
Four fire engines from Eccles, Salford and Agecroft were deployed to battle the blaze. Wearing breathing apparatus, teams of firefighters used three hose reels to extinguish the fire.
A woman in her 50s was taken to hospital by North West Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS), where she is being treated.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “At around 5.15 am on Tuesday 22 October, GMFRS crews were called to reports of a fire at a home on Montonmill Gardens in Eccles.
“Four fire engines from Eccles, Salford and Agecroft fire stations quickly attended the scene.
“A woman has been taken to hospital by North West Ambulance Service (NWAS). GMFRS crews remain at the scene.”
