Salford’s new baking experience is celebrate the opening of their new northern location by giving away 300 free cupcakes.
The Big Manchester Bake will be opening their doors on Saturday 12 October and offering 300 cupcakes for the first visitors between 11:20am and 2pm.
Guests who come and see the brand-new venue on opening day could also get the chance to win two free tickets, usually worth up to £53.90 each.
The business is known to be the ‘UK’s No.1 baking experience’ and will be launching in Salford in Unit 2, at 4 New Bailey, Stanley Street and is opening to the public this week for the first time.
The unique, immersive experience will be open to bakers of all levels and inhabits 12 fully equipped baking stations.
Bakers will work in pairs and have 90 minutes to bake and decorate their cakes with everything provided including pre-weighed ingredients, top equipment and even the washing up.
The competing bakers can choose their own favourite flavourings, toppings and design to ensure they get crowned the winners.
Bakers will be tasked with creating that month’s themed bake in pairs and will be judged against the other baking stations to find the best cake and crown the winning team.
Each month the baking theme changes, and this month helps bakers get into the Halloween spirit with a theme of ‘Spooky pumpkin’.
The company started in London in 2017, with founders Adam Chaudhri and Eloise Frank after they started an office bake off and wanted to create an easy baking experience.
Following their success they now have four units across the country; two in London, the original location being Tooting, the second based in Haggerton and one based in Birmingham, and now Salford.
The business also support local communities in the surrounding area, by donating and supporting local charities with all their locations.
The company volunteered with the team at ‘Let’s Feed Brum’ to support people experiencing homelessness and also helped St George’s hospital in their original home of Tooting, where they give baking experiences to the nurses, doctors and other members of staff.
They also support the Whitechapel mission by helping to deliver 350 breakfasts daily to rough sleepers.
With the support they have offered elsewhere co-founder, Eloise Frank, shared that this is something they want to do in Salford, saying: “We often work with local charities so we absolutely want to bring this to Salford.
“We donate tickets and help local causes and we’ll be looking for a local charity we can partner and volunteer with to get involved with the surrounding community.”
She continued: “It helps us give back to the local area, we work with a lot of young people and this gives them a purpose of what we want to represent and helps them feel involved and gives them a sense of belonging.”
The company aims to bring investment to Salford and surrounding neighbourhoods, as they shared why they brought the experience up north, as Eloise said: “I went to university in the north and my best friend is from Manchester.
“I love it up here, this is such an upcoming city and we really wanted to get up here for the past three years.
“We offer something for everyone; children, families, team buildings and corporate, gluten free, vegan, we literally cater for everyone, and it’s just an overall wholesome activity.”
“We’ve hired over 20 people just for the opening and we will be hiring seasonal staff which is great for the students in the area as we offer flexible working.”
Big Manchester Bake co-founder Adam Chaudhri, spoke about the excitement of bringing the location up north, saying: “We’re thrilled to finally open The Big Manchester Bake.
“The city is known for its creative spirit and we can’t wait to bring our fun, hands on baking experience here and we’re starting things off in the sweetest way with free cupcakes on Saturday.”
