Swinton Lions relegation

Swinton Lions are set for a relegation battle this Sunday as they will face Hunslet KO in a fiery playoff fixture. 

Held at Swinton’s home ground Heywood RoadSunday’s game will be a must win for the Lions, as they look to turn around their poor form to stay in the division.

The Championship side have been in the league since their promotion in 2022, and they will be hoping to prolonging that stay for the foreseeable future.

However, this won’t be an easy affair for Swinton, who have struggled to find form in the latter stages of the season.

The Lions last run out saw them lose 50-0 to the Bradford Bulls with many fans being left frustrated with the performance, with one fan sharing their frustrations on X, describing the game as the “worst performance of the season.”

With the Lions being pushed aside by the Bulls it has left them fighting in the play offs against a high-flying Hunslet, who have been pushing their way through League one to reach the play off position.

Currently in 4th position Hunslet continue to make way up the League One table, hoping to instill their good form all the way throughout to the match on Sunday.

Hunslet KO ran through Keighley Cougars by beating them 20-6 in the League one Play Off Final.

The victory against the Cougars will see them push one step closer to the Championship.

But Hunslet will be heading into this gamer reminded of the two sides last meeting dating back to 2022, as Lions fans will remember the dominating victory against the Cougars winning 38-12.

And it will be a dominating performance that the home support will want to see, as they hope to extend their run in the league for the foreseeable future.

And despite their recent form in the league, the Lionsstill remain the favourites in this affair.
