Salford prisoner

A Salford prisoner who escaped while being escorted to Salford Royal Hospital is back in custody.

Salford prisoner Jonathan Windsor, 31, escaped while being taken by prison staff from Forest Bank prison in Pendlebury.

Salford police had warned the public to be on the look out for him after he got away on Monday.

Windsor has been in custody at HMP Forest Bank, a Category B adult male prison in Agecroft Road, Pendlebury.

The prison serves the Greater Manchester courts and maintains links with the local communities.

Following the escape a statement was posted on Salford Police’s Facebook page that made the public aware that Windsor was known to have links across the North West, including South Manchester.

Members of the public were urged not to approach him but to contact police if they saw him.

After the escape from Salford Royal, officers were reported to be carrying out enquiries around the hospital on Monday afternoon.

The prisoner was found later on Monday evening.

The spokesman said: β€œHe was found overnight and is now back in custody.”
