Salford Quays’ Lowry Theatre will host the 2024 Greater Manchester Green Summit 2024 this December.

The event that will be hosted by Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham will see the launch of the next stages of the environment plan.

The summit will aim to set an ambitious target for the region over the next five years, and will also feature a selection of speeches from climate experts.

The Lowry Theatre will host a number of workshops, panels, exhibitions and opportunities that will allow delegates to network and discuss the future of the region’s climate ambitions.

The climate summit has been held at the Lowry Theatre since 2019, with the venue being chosen due to its active and sustainable travel options for guests across region.

And the fifth year of the event will be no different, being hosted on Monday 9 December focusing on the methods that will improve the future of Greater Manchester’s actions towards climate change.

The event last year saw the discussions towards climate change with the conversations surrounding Greater Manchester’s transport link, the Bee Network.

Conversations at the event focused on the solutions for preventing waste and potential initiatives that would be set up to encourage businesses to be net carbon zero.

The event will be run all day, and will be scheduled to take place from 8:30 am to 18:30 pm, with anyone interested in attending being able to secure the available free tickets.

The summit will not only be a free session, but for those who are unable to attend the even in person will be able to watch the core sessions via a live stream.

Registration for tickets for the event is now live and anyone that wishes to attend can sign up here.

More information on this year’s events will be revealed in the run-up to the summit and anyone that wishes to remain updated can sign up to the GM Green City newsletter.
