A new Greggs outlet store has opened in Salford as the bakery chain looks to tackle food waste and help families in disadvantaged areas.
The new store on Phoebe Street in Ordsall allows customers to buy food from the previous day at a discounted rate.
A share of the profit made by the stores goes towards the company’s charitable foundation.
A Greggs spokesperson said: “Our outlet shops are another great way for Greggs to give back to local communities and reduce food waste.
“Everything sold in our outlet shops is still fresh and delicious and offers fantastic value for money. The outlets offer day-old food products at a large price reduction, helping families on tight budgets.
“By the end of 2025, we commit to having 50 Greggs outlets providing affordable food and donating a profit share to give back to the local community.”
The Salford Greggs outlet is at U3 Radclyffe Park, 110 Phoebe Street, M5 3PH.
