Salford City have announced the signing of 21-year-old striker Kylian Kouassi from Blackpool on a season-long loan deal.
The young forward scored five goals across 24 appearances for the Tangerines in League One last season, before his campaign was abruptly cut short through injury.
Kouassi joins The Ammies with plenty of League Two experience – the Sutton United academy graduate featured 40 times for the club in the fourth tier before he swapped South London for the seaside last summer.
Following the arrival of free agent Ashley Fletcher in July, Blackpool were keen to sanction a loan move for Kouassi before the transfer window closed.
The athletic target man is determined to make a positive impression at the Peninsula stadium this season:
“I’m happy to be here, I can’t wait to get started and start getting going.
“Training was good, I met all the lads, they were comforting so it’s been nice here and they made me settle pretty easily.
“I’m a striker that can come in and score goals, I’m a hard-working striker that brings energy and bring another problem to the side.
“I spoke to the Gaffer [interim head coach Richard Keogh], we had a few chats about where he wanted to be at the end of the season and that attracted me to come here. He can help me get better in terms of my strengths and my weaknesses, so I’m excited to come here and get going.”
Kouassi’s singing is Salford’s first piece of deadline day business. He will be eligible to make his debut on Monday night at the Peninsula Stadium as The Ammies take on MK Dons in League Two (8pm Kick-off).
