Karahi Wok and Maida Grill House are just a few of Salford’s curry takeaways nominated as finalists for the Manchester Curry Awards 2024.
Manchester’s first ever curry awards look to celebrate all the restaurants, takeaways and personalities that have made the industry “such a great part of Manchester’s culture and the economic contributions it makes”.
It looks to celebrate and promote a love of curry from a city that hosts the famous Curry Mile.
The five Salford restaurants that have made the finals are:
- Shahi Masala on Capital Quay,
- Karahi Wok on Langworthy Road
- Maida Grill House on Liverpool Street
- Tandoori Delights on the Quayside
- Rottu Kadai Dosa on the Quayside
This inaugural event comes following the Oceanic Consulting having success with similar awards such as the Scottish, English, London and Nation’s Curry Awards.
The winners will be announced at a ceremony that will be held on September 30.
A spokesperson for the Manchester Curry Awards 2024 said: “We’re very proud of how we’ve been able to grow the curry awards and celebrate the vibrant curry scene in the UK.
“We felt Manchester was worth highlighting as its done so much for the modern British curry. We want to congratulate all our finalists and wish them the best of luck.”
