Shops in and around the Salford Precinct have shut early today ahead of potential protests.
There have been reports on social media of people gathering at Salford Precinct from 1pm today (August 6).
The police are aware of the potential protests and have increased their presence at the shopping centre in Pendleton.
Some shops in the surrounding area have also shut over concerns of a potential disorder.
Salford Dental Practice on Liverpool Street posted on Instagram that the practice will be closing early due to a “potential risk to patients and staff”.
The Church Inn in Swinton also said they have cancelled their planned broadcast today with BBC Radio Manchester over safety concerns.
Salford Now has contacted the police and further details are expected to be released soon.
The potential protests in Salford follow the widespread disorder and rioting across the UK in the past week since three little girls were killed in the Southport stabbings.
