The sell-out West End show ‘Margaret Thatcher Queen of Soho’ is coming to The Lowry this September.
The ‘big gay odyssey’ about LGBT rights, the 80s and disco is coming to Salford Quays on September 10 to 14.
The show has been created by Olivier Award winner Jon Brittain and stars Matt Tedford as Margaret Thatcher.
The Iron Lady is back following four sell-out runs at the Edinburgh Fringe, UK tours and a West End season.
On the eve of the vote on Section 28, Maggie gets lost in Soho and accidentally becomes a cabaret superstar. Will she change her mind about the homophobic bill before it’s too late…?
It is directed by Jon Brittain, with design by Christopher Hone, sound design by Ed Lewis and Jon Brittain, and lighting design by Alex Fernandes. Further casting is yet to be announced.
Jon Brittain is a double Olivier Award-winning writer and director. His play Rotterdam won the Award for Outstanding Achievement in an Affiliate Theatre in 2017. He also directed Richard Gadd’s Baby Reindeer, which won the same award three years later.
