The Buckingham Road play area in Cadishead is open to the public again after a £12,000 refurbishment.
The refurbishment is part of a ongoing programme make facilities in the city more colourful, inviting and inclusive for the community.
New equipment includes a roundabout and a swing, both meeting the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) requirements, while other play equipment has been repaired and repainted. Soft surfaces have been repaired and revamped, while fences and railings around the site have been painted.
Councillor Barbara Bentham, Lead Member for Environment, Community Safety and Neighbourhoods, said “I’m delighted to see children enjoying this newly refurbished play area, it looks fantastic and I’m especially pleased with the new DDA equipment.
“This work goes towards our pledge of becoming a child-friendly city. We’re committed to investing in quality green infrastructure and making sure all neighbourhood areas have access to high quality and well-maintained play parks for local children to enjoy. ”
The work took around four weeks to complete and had £12,000 of investment.
