Salford City Wrestling will be hosting a new tournament in Swinton this October to crown the King of Salford.
The new tournament ‘Take The Throne’ at Pendlebury Social Club on Chapel Street promises to feature “hard-hitting action” from some of the “best pro wrestling stars in the North West”.
The night on Friday October 18 will showcase a tournament to crown the King of Salford, a women’s wrestling match and a tag team match.
The night will also feature the wrestlers below:
- “The Super Athlete” Troy Ryan
- Alifee & DeeDee
- “The Ice Queen” Lily Winter
- “The Horror Punk Bxtch” Aiton Steen
- “Salford’s Own” Jack Johnson
- “The Maestro” Philip Michael
- “Starkiller” Dave Birch
- “The Vigilante” Bentley
Doors will open at the venue at 6.30pm and the first bell will ring at 7pm.
Alex Francis, organiser of the event, 30, from Manchester, said: “I think people are excited to see wrestling in the area, there’s not been anything like this in Swinton before.”
Alex claims that pro wrestling is currently experiencing a “boom” in the UK.
Alex added: “There’s quite a big independent pro wrestling scene in the UK at the moment and it’s growing and growing. It’s experiencing a bit of a boom period because it’s getting quite big again in America.”
Salford City Wrestling said the event is family friendly and is accessible to wheelchair users and anyone with any accessibility needs.
