Salford City has agreed terms for clinical striker Cole Stockton to join the club on a two-year deal from Burton Albion.
The 30-year-old will formally become a Salford City player when the transfer window opens on June 14, pending ratification from the FA and the EFL.
In the last four seasons, the physical centre forward scored 54 goals through 150 league appearances playing for Morecambe, Burton and Barrow.
During the 2021-22 campaign, Stockton played a crucial role in Morecambe’s successful survival effort. His 23-goal haul helped The Shrimps narrowly avoid the drop.
The experienced attacker has a track record of League Two achievement. Stockton won promotion through the play-offs with Morecambe in 2021.
He hopes to play a leading role as The Ammies bid to escape League Two at the sixth attempt.

Speaking to the Club he said: “I’m made up, I spoke to the Gaffer and since that I just wanted to get it done.
“I’ve had a good chat with him, I have played against him and his teams in the past many times, and his teams have always been set up well, strong footballing teams, so to have the opportunity to come and play for him now is a pleasure and something that I really wanted to get done.
“The way the club is moving forward, I think it is going to be a good year for us and I am excited to be a part of it. Don’t get me wrong we’ve got to earn our right to do so as well, and I’d like to think that we are going to do that.
“We’ve all got it in our head, we want to be up there, that is why we do it. We want to be up there and there is no reason as to why we can’t so we’ll look back in a year and hopefully we’ve done it.”
Stockton represents an ambitious signing for The Ammies. He is the first new face to arrive at the Peninsula Stadium this summer as Karl Robinson begins to sculpt the side in his image.
