CBeebies presenter Rebecca Keatley, Blue Peter’s Abby Cook and the fitness instructor Mr Motivator will also join the line-up at the CBeebies Bedtime Stories Tent.

Furthermore, Peggy Seeger, the wife of the late legendary folk singer Ewan MacColl, is set to perform an abandoned verse of Dirty Old Town at the festival with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra on Saturday at the Piazza stage.

Last year, We Invented the Weekend delivered a total impact of more than £3.2 million for the local economy. Over 60,000 people went to the festival at MediaCity over the two days.

For those looking to get creative, Salfordian Gogglebox Star, Helena Worthington, will also be hosting Mirror Magic sessions at The Lowry. At the sessions, families can discover the magic of self-reflection and learn how to use lines and shapes to craft unique masterpieces using techniques inspired by L.S. Lowry.

A schedule of activity will also feature at The Lowry including an aerial dance duet from All or Nothing on The Swings, a 5m high installation at the end of The Lowry pier.

The Lowry will also host behind the scenes tours of the theatre with special lighting and sound demonstrations, special gallery tours of the LS Lowry Exhibition, and a high-energy  flash mob from SIX The Musical at 11am on Sunday.

With over 200+ free activities taking place across the two days, We Invented the Weekend has promised “to be a weekend to remember with something for families and children of all ages.”
