Salford city have changed their system for homeless people

The Salford City Mayor Paul Dennett has announced his new cabinet after being re-elected for a third term.

The mayor has appointed Tracy Kelly to continue her tole as the Statutory Deputy City Mayor, with responsibilities for Housing and Anti-Poverty.

The councillor Jack Youd has also been appointed to take on the role of the Deputy City Mayor, with responsibilities for Finance, Support Services and Regeneration.

Mayor Paul Dennett commented: “I, and the rest of Salford Labour Group, were elected on a clear platform of delivering a greener, healthier, more prosperous Salford.

“With exciting and ambitious proposals for the next term, such as building 600 more council homes, making further progress with taking back control of social care, planting thousands of trees and continuing our important work tackling the climate crisis, while also committing to delivering a rugby strategy and becoming a Child Friendly City.

“I’m genuinely excited about our ambitious manifesto and I’m looking forward to working with members and officers from across the Council.”
