A construction company has donated high-vis vests to 30 apprentices from Salford City College to encourage safety on site.
The high-vis vests for the plastering apprentices, all aged between 16 and 18, will supposedly help to reinforce the importance of staying safe when working.
The construction company, Mansell Building Solutions, is also aiming to provide work experience for the apprentices in the near future.
Allan Milne, director of Apprenticeships at Salford City College, added: “Without having close relationships with businesses like Mansell, we can’t provide the real-life work environments to help young people into employment.
“We’ve been offering outstanding Apprenticeship provision for more than 10 years and are proud to be an award-winning training provider and are very pleased to have support from Greater Manchester’s diverse economy.”
Mansell Building Solutions is based in Bolton and is a second-generation family business established in 1991.
Stephanie Mansell, business support director at Mansell Building Solutions, said: “Social value is hugely important, and we are committed to doing as much as we can to support and improve the communities within which we operate.
“One of our mantras is local projects by local people and by helping the workforce of the future, we can assist their route into a diverse and rewarding career.”
